Some Section V Sports Resume Practice While Others Bide Their Time

Written by on September 21, 2020

Low risk Section V sports will resume practicing today after the longest hiatus in recent history concludes.

The Monroe County Public School Athletic Conference has elected to wait an additional week and will start practices on Monday, the 28th.

This decision will allow more information on re-opening procedures to be analyzed and will give the schools involved more time to prepare for the athletic season.

Rush-Henrietta Athletic Director Tom Stewart commented, saying:

“The key here has been our league members putting things together, supporting each other, trying to find the best practices. Then making sure that our superintendents, our school boards, and our school district administrators are on board as well.”

“We’ll definitely have communication with those athletic administrators and with those school officials in those different school districts who are starting sooner to find out what were some of the bumps and bruises that they went through to try and make this happen.”
