The Rochester City School District released their plans to reopen for this next school year. Dr. Lesli C. Myers-Smalls sent out a letter Monday addressing the districts reopening and the School Year 2020-2021: RSCD Together document. To read her letter click here.
Prior to the RCSD Together plan, the district asked for input from the community regarding COVID-19 and reopening schools. Along with the plans to reopen the district included the responses from the community. So you will see how staff, parents, and students feel about going back to school in September during the pandemic.
The RSCD said in the RCSD Together plan the 2020-21 curriculum will address the gaps in education that may have occurred during the closure.
All districts have to submit their reopening plans by July 31st and Governor Andrew Cuomo will make a decision around August 7th.
