Musical artists who have decided to release their albums now instead of waiting for the coronavirus pandemic to end are experiencing a new wave of fan appreciation. Jahron Anthony Brathwaite, the 26-year-old R&B singer, rapper and songwriter known as PartyNextDoor, released his third album, “Partymobile,” last Thursday, March 26. His fans were thrilled. Rihanna fans were as well. The 32-year-old star added her voice to the album’s 10th track “Believe It.”
The collaboration doesn’t come as a surprise to fans of either singer: PartyNextDoor co-wrote several of Rihanna’s most famous songs, including “Sex With Me,” “Wild Thoughts” and “Work.”
Rihanna has yet to release a date for her own reggae-inspired album titled “R9.” In fact, this is Rihanna’s first recorded public release in three years. Also, she hasn’t had an album release since “Anti” in 2016.
Per an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rihanna stated that she enjoys the suspense and teasing her fans: “To be continued,” she said. “I like to antagonize my fans a little bit. Well, they antagonize me, too! So, they get it right back.”
Many fans don’t mind the antagonism and hope that Rihanna will appear as a featured artist on other singles soon.
