People are being warned in Florida about a wild monkey’s spreading the herpes virus.
The Rhesus Macaques are roaming around in the northern part of Florida. The monkeys are not originally from Florida they were bread there back in the 1930s and have reproduced at a fast rate.
Reports say there are about 300 of them and a little less than half could be carrying the herpes B virus which can be deadly if not treated. Now back 2018 CDC found that 30 percent of the monkeys were infected with the virus.
Wildlife experts are warning people to not to feed or touch the monkeys even if they’re acting friendly.
You already gotta worry about catching herpes from humans. Now, we gotta worry monkeys too.
