*Sigh* Labor Day — a day off from work full of parades, shopping, BBQ’s, great music and great vibes… all with pay!!! We all celebrate it, but do we know why? ??

Labor Day is an American holiday celebrated on the first Monday of September every year. Many associate the day with the end of summer and going back to school, but the official meaning is a little different. Labor Day is observed in celebration of the contributions that workers have made to the development, growth, strength, security, prosperity, laws, sustainability, and well-being of this country.

The origins can be traced back to the late 1800s, when there was major growth in labor movements and trade unions. Each of these separate unions had their own day in which they celebrated American labor. Over time, a National Labor Day was proposed and it became an official federal holiday in 1894.

So pretty much, us working our butts off every day is the reason Labor Day exists. With that being said, we should ALL be living our best lives on Monday, September 2nd! WE DESERVE IT HONEY!! ????

P.S. If you’re working on Labor Day, enjoy that good ol’ holiday pay! ???
