Five people were injured in a crash Wednesday afternoon on Rochester’s southwest side. Around 3:35 p.m., police say a stolen Kia with four teens inside was driving recklessly near Loretta Johnson Middle School, went onto baseball fields, then drove the wrong way on Epworth Street before crashing head-on with another vehicle.
The 16-year-old driver suffered life-threatening injuries, while two passengers — ages 15 — had non-life-threatening injuries. Another 14-year-old passenger fled but was detained. Two people in the other car were hospitalized with pain, and a pedestrian struck at the scene was unhurt.
