Rochester Expands SNAP Access to Hot Meals at Local Restaurants

Certain SNAP recipients in Rochester, NY — including seniors, people with disabilities, and those experiencing homelessness — can now use their benefits to purchase hot, prepared meals at seven local restaurants through New York State’s Restaurant Meals Program. Eligible individuals and their spouses also receive a 10% discount. The initiative aims to support those who lack access to food preparation or storage. Local leaders and restaurant owners, like Philomina U. Emeka-Iheukwu, have praised the program for improving access to nutritious food. Participating restaurants include:

• Pomodoro Pizza

• Wings and Pasta

• Gregorio’s Pizza

• Nin’s Restaurant

• Jin Wang Chinese Restaurant

• Donut-N-Diner
