Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo will be renamed Golisano Children’s Hospital of Buffalo in January 2026, following a record $50 million donation from billionaire philanthropist Tom Golisano. Hospital leaders expressed deep gratitude, citing the impact the funds will have on expanding health services for mothers, children, and infants. Golisano, founder of Paychex and former owner of the Buffalo Sabres and Bandits, has previously funded children’s hospitals in Rochester, Syracuse, and Fort Myers. He said Buffalo feels like home and emphasized the importance of providing high-quality care to all children, regardless of background. The Oishei Foundation, which held naming rights since 2017, also voiced support for the change and plans to continue working with Kaleida Health on community initiatives. The renaming reflects Golisano’s longstanding legacy of philanthropy in pediatric care across New York and beyond.
