Fifth-Alarm Blaze Destroys Former Tent City Building

A massive fire broke out Thursday night at a vacant four-story building at Dewey and Lyell avenues, prompting a fifth alarm due to its size and threat to nearby homes.

The former Tent City building, under construction, partially collapsed. Nearby homes sustained exterior damage, but no interior fires were found.

A second fire also occurred on Cameron Street.

No injuries were reported. Firefighters remain on scene, and the cause is under investigation.
