Johnson, who was identified as one of the individuals firing shots, was found at his grandmother’s house on Arnett Boulevard and taken into custody. However, investigators do not believe he fired the fatal shots. He faces charges of first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and will be arraigned on Saturday.

RPD Chief David Smith noted Johnson had prior arrests in 2022 and 2023 for illegally possessing a handgun. Authorities continue to search for additional suspects, as around 16 people were reportedly armed at the scene. Mayor Malik Evans emphasized the need to bring all responsible parties to justice.
