Texas mother fleft kids in dire conditions as son’s body decomposed; sentenced to 50 years

A Texas mother, Gloria Williams, received a 50-year prison sentence for leaving her children in horrific conditions, including living with the decomposing body of her deceased 8-year-old son, Kendrick Lee, for over a year in a filthy, roach-infested apartment. Williams had pleaded guilty to child injury charges related to the abuse and death of her son, who was fatally beaten by her boyfriend, Brian Coulter, in 2020. Authorities discovered the remains in October 2021 after Williams’ 15-year-old son, malnourished and left to fend for himself and his two younger siblings, finally reported the situation. Coulter was sentenced to life without parole for Lee’s death. After her arrest, Williams relinquished her parental rights, with two children adopted and the eldest in foster care.
