Monroe County elections commissioners explain early voting

Early voting in Monroe County begins Saturday, with 17 locations available to voters. Monroe County Elections Commissioners Lisa Nicolay and Jackie Ortiz, representing the Republican and Democratic parties, joined ARC Rochester to discuss the process. Ortiz highlighted that New York is a no-ID state, meaning voters do not need to bring identification unless they did not complete the voter registration card. The commissioners encourage continued voter registration, noting a surge in new registrations likely due to heightened interest in the upcoming presidential election. Monroe County has also trained election inspectors in de-escalation techniques to ensure a comfortable voting experience for all.

Saturday, Oct. 26 through Sunday, Nov. 3. 9am-5pm
Except Tuesday, Oct. 29 and Thursday, Oct. 31st will be noon to 8pm.
