Bodycam footage has been released showing the tragic encounter between 26-year-old epileptic Rhyker Earl and first responders in Indiana. After Earl experienced multiple seizures, his grandmother called 911 for medical help. However, the situation escalated when Jasper County deputies and EMTs arrived. The footage shows Earl being handcuffed, pinned down for over 20 minutes, and administered multiple sedative shots while he pleaded for help. Earl became unresponsive and later died in the hospital after being placed on life support. His family claims deputies used excessive force on Earl, who was in a confused post-seizure state. Indiana State Police are investigating the incident, and civil rights attorney Ben Crump is pursuing justice for Earl’s family. Earl’s death highlights the need for better training of law enforcement in handling medical emergencies involving seizures and mental health crises.
