The state of Arkansas is suing YouTube and its parent company Alphabet claiming the platform is causing addiction and creating mental health issues among young people.

The issues caused the state to spend millions on mental health and other services for young people.

The lawsuit doesn’t seek specific damages, but asks that YouTube be ordered to fund prevention, education and treatment for “excessive and problematic use of social media.
