LeBron James Says Son Bronny Can’t Call Him Dad on the Courtl

Written by on August 30, 2024

In a recent episode of “The Shop,” recorded during the 2024 Olympic Games, LeBron James shared that he does not want his son, Bronny James, to call him “dad” during NBA team activities. LeBron emphasized that while Bronny can refer to him as “dad” outside of the court, on the court, he must use names like “Bron,” “2-3,” or even “GOAT.” LeBron explained that this boundary is necessary to maintain professionalism during games and practices. This comes as the Los Angeles Lakers drafted Bronny in June 2024, making LeBron and Bronny the first father-son duo to play together in NBA history. Their debut as teammates could occur in the Lakers’ preseason game on October 4, 2024.
