After serving in the U.S. Air Force and working as a talent agent representing stars like Simon & Garfunkel, Amos turned his passion for baking into a business. In 1975, he opened the first Famous Amos cookie store in Los Angeles, which quickly gained popularity for its high-quality, bite-sized cookies. Despite eventually selling the company due to financial challenges, Amos remained a beloved figure and a pioneer in the gourmet cookie industry.
