Food Link Announced No More Funding from United Way Community Impact Fund

Food Link announced it will no longer receive funding from the United Way Community Impact Fund.

Food Link says this cut could impact more than 170 non-profit partners.

Statement From Foodlink,

“Foodlink was disappointed to learn that after many years of sustained support from the United Way, we will no longer receive funding from the Community Impact Fund. As the sole food bank responsible for serving all of the counties within the United Way’s service area, this loss of funding could not come at a worse time. Food prices remain high, and food insecurity is on the rise. Through the first half of this year, visits to our network of food pantries and meal programs have risen 35% compared to the year prior. If the current trend continues, we are on pace for more requests for food assistance than ever before in our 45-year history.”

“This decision will impact more than 170 of our member nonprofits—and dozens of other food distribution partners—that rely on this pass-through funding to help stock their shelves and serve thousands of our neighbors on a monthly basis. But Foodlink is a resilient organization, and this is a resilient community; we will continue to look for ways to meet the rising need despite the loss of this critical funding.”
