City of Rochester & City Firefighter Reach Settlement After Racist Party

A Rochester firefighter and the City of Rochester reached a settlement of $150,000.

2 years ago, Jerrod Jones a black firefighter, was forced to attend a racist party by his captain.

The incident happened back in July 2022 during his shift at a mansion on East Ave where there were Juneteenth flags and buckets of KFC chicken, along with other inappropriate stuff.

 

As part of the settlement, the city will pay Jones $75,000 now and another $75,000 upon his retirement in four years. Jones will remain on paid leave until his retirement.
