Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson made history by becoming the franchise’s all-time leading scorer during a 104-85 victory over the Dallas Wings. Wilson scored 28 points, surpassing Sophia Young-Malcolm’s record of 4,300 points with a new total of 4,301. She also recorded 10 rebounds, marking her 11th double-double of the season. Wilson, drafted first overall in 2018, broke the record with two free throws late in the fourth quarter. She expressed her gratitude for the milestone and celebrated with her teammates and the home crowd.
The Aces brought former franchise stars, including Young-Malcolm, onto the court to celebrate Wilson’s achievement. Reflecting on the moment, Wilson emphasized the importance of building on the foundation laid by past players.
Wilson is having an MVP-caliber season, leading the league with 27 points per game and aiming for her third MVP award. The Aces, now 13-7, were supported by strong performances from Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray. Despite Odyssey Sims scoring a season-high 25 points for the Wings, Dallas fell to 5-17, tied for the worst record in the league with the Washington Mystics.
