RPD: Car stolen with people inside, Rochester man arrested

A Rochester man, identified as Kyle Monroe, was arrested after being caught in a stolen car which had a disabled woman and a child inside at the time it was taken. The incident occurred when the vehicle was reported stolen from a parking lot on Lyell Avenue in Rochester, NY, around 2:15 p.m. The occupants, a disabled woman in her 60s and an 8-year-old child, were later safely dropped off at a local fire station on Dewey Avenue about half an hour later. The police managed to apprehend Monroe with the vehicle at approximately 4:30 p.m. back on Lyell Avenue. Monroe, 34, faces charges of third and fourth-degree grand larceny and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. His court arraignment was scheduled for the following Wednesday morning. The police reported that the woman and child were unharmed following the ordeal.
