Monroe County Temporarily Suspends ARPA Funds
Written by Site Hub on February 10, 2024
Monroe County Executive Adam Bello temporarily suspended American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to the Community Resource Collaborative (CRC), which managed millions of federal dollars for community outreach. This decision came after the CRC reported financial mismanagement that led to an employee’s termination. The CRC was responsible for distributing nearly $7.2 million over four years to 13 community-based organizations under the Neighborhood Collaborative Project, which aims to providing essential services like housing and workforce development. The funding halt impacts these organizations, including the Father Tracy Advocacy Center, raising concerns about continuing their community services. Monroe County has initiated a forensic audit and involved law enforcement to investigate the extent of the mismanagement and ensure accountability.
