Rochester Leaders Speak on Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Written by Site Hub on October 4, 2023
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Monroe County Executive Adam Bello, alongside Mayor Malik Evans, collaborated with the community at the Willow Domestic Violence Center to discuss the matter, which frequently extends to violence outside the household.
Mayor Evans stated: “I am so very concerned with the numbers that I see regularly. I read the reports everyday, and so many times it will say menacing, and you say, ‘What’s menacing?’ Often times, that menacing is related to domestic violence. It often times escalates into death. So I want to thank Willow for making this issue continue to be front-and-center. We have a lot for work that we do, and we need to stop the death and destruction.”
