United Airlines Hit With Proposed $1 Million Fine By FAA

This is not a confidence booster when it comes to airline safety in the United States. So the Federal Aviation Administration fined United Airlines $1 million for skipping safety steps.

In a news release the FAA said United Airlines removed a step that is required in the Maintenance Specifications Manual. The step that was removed is the Fire System Warning from it’s Boeing 777 Preflight Check.

This, according to officials “did not meet airworthiness requirements” from 2018 to 2020. How the violations impacted flights or how many were affected has not been released by officials.
