6 Part Docu-Series ‘Enslaved’ Featuring Samuel L. Jackson Premiers September 14 On Epix

Hollywood movie star and civil rights activist Samuel L. Jackson has teamed up with Epix to host their newest documentary-series “Enslaved,” which focuses on the Atlantic slave trade.
Episode 1 features the latest diving robot technology to tell the story from the ocean floor, as the crew investigates sunken slave ships on several continents. The undersea content is provided in part by Diving With a Purpose and the National Association of Black Scuba Divers.
One highlight is when they discover a “Freedom Ship,” an American ship that ferried runaway’s to Canada.
The episodes are broken into three parts. The first is the quest for a sunken slave ship, followed by a personal journey by Samuel L. Jackson and finally a historical investigation led by investigative journalists Simcha Jacobovici and Afua Hirsch.
The Epix Series begins on September 14 at 10 PM Eastern & Pacific.
