Rochester’s Norton Village Park Playground unveiled its $500,000 renovation with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mayor Malik Evans. Emphasizing the importance of quality play spaces, Evans highlighted that the improvements make the park safer and more enjoyable for children. The nearly year-long project introduced slip-resistant surfaces, additional shade, and new swings, relocating the playground for better visibility near the Norton Village Lodge. Commissioner Shirley Green of the Department of Recreation and Human Services expressed excitement about families already enjoying the updated facilities. The renovation was funded by the city’s U.S. Community Development Block Grant allocation, supporting accessible and modern community spaces.
