5 Tips To A Survive Super Bowl Party For Non-Sports Fans

Written by on January 31, 2020

The Super Bowl is this Sunday, but it’s not just a big game that will crown the champions of the NFL 2019-2020 season. Over the years, it’s turned into quite an event for non sports fans, the camaraderie is irresistible. Some people just like to be around Friends/Family, the Commercials, the Food and Football.

But what if you don’t follow football and you still want to be a part of the party? You can! You just need to understand some of unwritten rules for the big game.

That’s why I’m providing these 5 tips for non-football fans to enjoy their Super Bowl Party invite, and avoid ruining the game for football fans in attendance.

Tip #5 – Know something about the teams

Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers are playing and the QB’s (quarterbacks) are Patrick Mahomes and Jimmy Garoppolo. You don’t need to know the entire roster or the head coaches. Just information to survive until halftime.

Tip #4 – Bring something for the house host

Remember you’re being invited to someone’s house, its a party. Much like a cookout or holiday event don’t come empty-handed.

Tip #3 – it’s OK not to know what’s going on in the game, but please don’t ask what’s going on in the game

If the room agrees it’s a bad call, it’s a bad call! Remember you’re there to survive, not prove a point about a sports you don’t understand completely.

Tip #2 – Mix & mingle most likely there’s somebody in the Super Bowl party that also doesn’t know much about football

They’ll be pretty easy to spot. Just don’t get too clingy with one person.

Tip #1- DONT BLOCK THE DAMN TV

Walking in front of a TV during a play, you get a warning. Second violation could get you kicked out of the room. Some people bet on these games. Money is on the line & blocking the TV is definitely out of line!

Make sure you use these tips to survive Super Bowl Sunday!
