Wayne Aarum, pastor accused of abusing teens, sues Buffalo’s ‘The Chapel’ Church for $2.5M

If you follow the Democrat & Chronicle, you may have noticed different stories posted daily of women coming forward about abuse and their experience with Wayne Aarum, the pastor and director of the Christian camp ‘Living Waters Circle C Ranch’ in Western New York. Wayne has now filed a civil lawsuit this past week against a Buffalo megachurch ‘The Chapel’ for defamatory statements. The Chapel has made a public statement of standing with the women who have come forward and continue to come forward on their accusations against Wayne. Aaron worked at The Chapel in the 1990s as a youth group leader but continues to serve at Circle C Ranch still to this day.

This lawsuit filed by Wayne Aarum alleges The Chapel’s executive pastor, John Camardo, used the abuse allegations against him as a way to damage Aarum’s reputation and ability to conduct business, according to the filings because The Chapel “has wanted to take over ownership and control of the Circle C Ranch property.” Wayne Aarum is seeking more than $2.5 million in damages for “harm to reputation, mental anguish, humiliation, embarrassment, and emotional injury,” and an additional $625,000 in financial damages, according to court filings.
