3 Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day While Staying Distant

Written by on May 9, 2020

Mother’s Day 2020 is NOT cancelled! In this time of social distancing you have to get creative in order to celebrate mom while staying safe. Remember she just wants to connect with her children, especially on mother’s day.

Here are three ways to connect with mom or grandma without putting her at risk of infection.

  1. Talent Show – Set up a video chat on Zoom, FaceTime, Facebook or Instagram (my mom is on all of them) and show her what you’re working with! Sing, dance, teach her a TikTok routine, cook, recite a poem, play dress up with the kids, put on a play – it doesn’t matter! Mom will always be your biggest fan no matter what.
  2. Decorate the outside of her house. Drop by moms and cut her grass. Pull the weeds. Plant some flowers. Decorate her porch with balloons and signs. She will love to see you from the window and will appreciate the beauty you added to her yard.
  3. Have a virtual brunch. Drop off a meal, or have it delivered to her house. Get on video chat with the whole family as ya’ll eat talk and laugh. Don’t forget the dessert and champagne.
