Akil “Sonny” McLeod from Arizona has been named the 2024 Gerber Baby, announced on his first birthday. Known for his sunny disposition and engaging smile, Sonny won over the judges in Gerber’s 14th annual photo search. The winning photo features him in a yellow-and-white striped onesie, posing with his first ABC book. Sonny celebrated his first birthday with his parents, Dominque and Akil McLeod Sr., and his sister Sage. As this year’s Gerber Baby, Sonny will appear on the brand’s social media and in various marketing campaigns. He and his family received a $25,000 cash prize, a year’s supply of Gerber products, a new wardrobe, and additional perks from Gerber partners. Gerber will also donate an equivalent amount to the March of Dimes to support maternal and infant health programs.
