2024 Election Results: Samra Brouk, Demond Meeks, Jeremy Cooney, & Joe Morelle All Re-Election

According to WHEC-TV, NYS Senate Samra Brouk has been re-elected to the office she has held since 2020. She was challenged by Luis Martinez, a Republican from Pittsford. He works in the private sector and has never held elected office.

WHEC-TV also reported Demond Meeks, a Democrat from Rochester, is trying to hold onto the seat he’s held the last four years. He is a labor union organizer for 1199 SEIU. Marcus Williams, a Republican from Rochester, is running for office for the first time. He works in the private sector.

Rochester First reported Democrat Joe Morelle won reelection to New York’s 25th Congressional District seat Tuesday. Morelle  beat Republican Gregg Sadwick. Sadwick is a Navy veteran and president of two Monroe County businesses and has held the seat since November 2018.

Rochester First  also says Democrat Jeremy Cooney has won reelection in New York’s 56th State Senate District. Beating Republican Jim VanBrederode was the former chief of the Gates Police Department. Incumbent Democrat Jeremy Cooney was elected to the position in 2020. He was named Chairman of the Transportation Committee in 2024, and is a member of the Monroe County Democratic Committee.
