Yesterday afternoon, eighteen people were rescued from an ice floe in Lake Erie. They were located in Catawba Island, Ohio, and were stranded after several all-terrain vehicles looking for a route to land became stranded on the ice. The Coast Guard helicopter, Coast Guard airboat, and another airboat worked together in order to rescue them. No one required medical attention. The helicopter was able to take seven people from the floe, another four were rescued by the Coast Guard airboat, and the remaining seven were rescued by the other boat hosted by someone who was close to the scene.
