12 Years of Myspace Data Lost Forever

Myspace has reported that more than 50 million songs from 14 million artists have been deleted from their servers. Any music uploaded to the site between the years 2003 and 2015 has been completely wiped out due to a server error.
Last weekend, the social site that paved the way for all other popular social networks, like Facebook, Instagram, and What’s App, announced,
“As a result of a server migration project, any photos, videos, and audio files you uploaded more than three years ago may no longer be available on or from MySpace. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
Some believe this error was actually created intentionally. Former Kickstarter chief technology officer, Andy Balo stated,
“I’m deeply skeptical this was an accident. Flagrant incompetence may be bad PR, but it still sounds better than ‘we can’t be bothered with the effort and cost of migrating and hosting 50 million old MP3s.'”
I guess it’s a good thing we have SoundCloud, huh?
