Written by wdkxwp on April 26, 2019
The Reel Mind Film & Theatre Series features films, performances and discussions that address the social stigma of mental illness and behavioral disorders while providing a message of hope that recovery is possible.
This season the film series highlights the topic of suicide. With over 800,000 people committing suicide every year, the subject is top of mind for many mental health providers, consumers and their families.
Here is the 2019 Reel Mind film series:

Hart Theater, Jewish Community Center, 1200 Edgewood Avenue

Series Co-Director and film programmer Ruth Cowing says, “What Reel Mind strives to do is bring into the light those topics that have been stigmatized and thus hidden in the dark for far too long — suicide is a perfect example of that. So when we came across several excellent films that came at the subject from different angles AND focused on hope and recovery, we decided they were important to share and discuss.”
