The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. will be celebrating its historic centennial year in January 2020 and they’ve got some big plans… 100,000 of them to be exact! In celebration of the upcoming centennial year, the sorority plans to give a $100,000 scholarship to a deserving young woman.

“We were founded on the principles of scholarship, service, sisterhood and finer womanhood with an emphasis on education. I wanted to do something to honor our founders because without them we would not be here ninety-nine and a half years later,” remarked Zeta’s International Centennial President, Valerie Hollingsworth Baker. She herself was an exceptional student who earned several academic scholarships and was the inspiration behind The Founders’ Centennial Scholarship. She even entered college at the age 14!! ?

In addition to this, The Founders’ Centennial Scholarship will be awarded annually for five consecutive years in honor of the sorority’s five founding members beginning in March 2020. The sorority also has 10,000 book bags they plan to distribute as well! They did not come to play! Young ladies who are interested in the scholarship are encouraged to apply by the deadline of January 16, 2020.
