YMCA encourages summer learning through Power Scholars Academy

The YMCA of Greater Rochester is promoting summer learning through its Power Scholars Academy, designed to prevent summer learning loss for kids from pre-K through ninth grade. The six-week program combines small-group academic instruction with camp-like enrichment activities, providing a balanced approach to education and fun.

Jonathan Coyle, the program director, emphasized the importance of offering enriching academic experiences during the summer, particularly for youth in the city. He highlighted the dedicated team of staff working to support the students’ learning and development.
