A California woman says her insurance company dropped her after they flew a drone over her property and took images when she was renovating her home.

In a notice sent the company said they’re ending her coverage due to “hazardous” construction and “clutter” in her yard.

The woman said she has been a customer with the company for over 40 years.

The woman spent around $80k on home and car insurance with the company over nearly four decades, decided to call the insurance company to clarify why she was being dropped from her plan.

Insurance companies must also give their clients in California a 75-day notice before canceling their coverage, according to state law.

In New York, insurance companies have 45 to 60 days to notice and explain the reason for non-renewal before it drops your policy.

The woman said she’s been working on her home for the past couple of years and her home needed upgrades badly from kitchen, bathroom and driveway costing her hundreds of thousands of dollars.
