When I hear stories about black female athletes who face adversary in their career, I wonder “who is there to protect these women professionally?”
There has been a lot of talk about the mental stress that Tennis Player Naomi Osaka, Track Star Sha’Carri Richardson and Gymnast Simone Biles have faced recently.
But then you look at Venus and Serena Williams and all of the obstacles that tried to get in the way of these young tennis players from Compton and you’ve got to give credit to their father Richard for being the bumper that allowed the Williams sisters to focus on their craft rather than politics.
This Fall Will Smith brings this story to the big screen! King Richard hits the theatres and HBO Max November 19 2021.
