Whole Foods Appeals Denied

The Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court has dismissed appeals aiming to reverse a judge’s verdict permitting the establishment of the first Whole Foods store in the Rochester area, specifically in Brighton.
The court passed the verdict on Friday, turning down objections from two groups that were opposing the project due to its large size and fears of it encroaching upon a public trail located behind the store. Despite years of legal disputes, the Whole Foods store finally opened its doors on Monroe Avenue on April 12, surviving a final attempt by community groups, backed by Wegmans, to prevent its inauguration. However, Wegmans expressed its support for the Whole Foods store after it commenced operations.
