White House Holds Ceremony For Amy Coney Barrett As She Is Sworn In

Written by on October 27, 2020

Last night, President Donald Trump hosted a swearing-in ceremony for Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett following her confirmation by the Senate.

She was sworn in near the Rose Garden, right by where the federal appeals court judge from Indiana was introduced to a crowd that sparked the spread of COVID-19 through the White House and Senate.

Barrett is quoted, saying:

“I stand here tonight truly honored and humbled. This was a rigorous confirmation process. It is the job of a judge to resist her policy preferences. It would be a dereliction of duty for her to give in to them.”
