Wegmans Across the US Bidding Bye-Bye to Plastic Bags

Yesterday, Wegmans announced that they plan to eliminate plastic bags throughout the company by the end of 2022. As we all know, New York State stopped using plastic bags two years ago because of state law, but that is not the case everywhere else in the world. Wegman’s goal is to shift all customers to reusable bags. Don’t get too concerned though! If you’re like me and often forget a bag, you will still be able to purchase a paper one for 5 cents or just carry your items. Wegmans stated that this new effort is expected to prevent 345 million single-use bags from going into circulation in a year’s time.
