Venus Williams gets her own Barbie doll

Venus Williams has been honored with her own Barbie doll as part of Barbie’s 65th anniversary celebration, Mattel announced. Williams is among nine female athletes worldwide to receive this recognition. The doll depicts Williams in action on the tennis court, wearing a white tennis dress, visor, matching sneakers, and her signature gold hoop earrings.
Williams expressed her honor, stating that Barbie’s mission aligns with her career ethos of shattering glass ceilings and staying true to oneself. She hopes to empower young girls to pursue their dreams.
Other athletes honored with their own Barbie dolls include Olympic champion boxer Estelle Mossely, paratriathlon athlete Susana Rodriguez, swimmer Federica Pellegrini, gymnast Alexa Moreno, Olympic gymnast Rebeca Andrade, and soccer star Mary Fowler. This initiative aims to highlight the achievements of women in sports and inspire the next generation of girls to follow their passions.
