UR Medicine Surgery Center Grand Opening

Yesterday, UR Medicine celebrated the grand opening of the region’s only outpatient orthopedic surgery center. The UR Medicine Orthopaedics & Physical Performance Surgery Center opened in February at Marketplace Mall. Since opening, 4,000 orthopedic procedures and 1,000 surgeries have been performed at the center.

University of Rochester Medical Center CEO Dr. Mark Taubman stated: “Today’s facility expands our outpatient capacity, employing advanced technologies to improve advanced patient care. The operating rooms feature state-of-the-art motion-sensing equipment, which helps our surgeons to operate more efficiently and effectively. There are also numerous technologies designed to reduce the risk of patient infections. This is great news for patients across the region who receive care here.”
