U.S. Confirmed Cases Of COVID-19 Highest Rate Worldwide “A Badge Of Honor” Says President Trump

Written by on May 21, 2020

President Trump said he views the high rate of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in the United States as a badge of honor. He made the statement during his cabinet meeting Monday in which he hasn’t held one since the outbreak.

The current president said the United States is doing more testing than anybody else in the world so that’s why there are more cases. Per the Center for Disease Control the Unites States has conducted 12.6 million COVID-19 test to date. He also touts it to be a good thing that the testing is much better here than anywhere else in the world.

Okay, for the sake of this argument I will give him that. However, to say it is a badge of honor to have the most cases is irresponsible and even disrespectful to the people that have died.

Not only does the United States have the highest rate of confirmed cases but we also are number 1 in fatalities in the world from COVID-19. So I ask, how is that something to be proud of??

We take the top spot worldwide for the amount of deaths due to the coronavirus and we are supposed to be the greatest country in the world with the best healthcare system.

Our doctors, nurses, and scientist have been working day and night endlessly to save lives. They have sacrificed everything to fight this pandemic and slow the spread of COVID-19 that is a badge of honor. Has President Trump has had any real discussions with healthcare workers on the frontline? And if so, has actually listened to them and their experiences with the coronavirus.

Has he talked to families who have lost loved ones to the virus to understand their experiences during this pandemic?
