Written by on January 11, 2021

Twins that were raised in Rochester have just made it onto Oprah’s Favorite Things List.

Feven and Helena Yohannes were born in 1981 in a refugee camp in Sudan before their parents (who were originally from Eritrea,) were granted political asylum by the U.S.

The twins started their education in city schools, No. 28 and No. 46 James Monroe Middle School and then graduated from Brighton high school. T

hey worked as cashiers at Pittsford Wegmans, graduated from prestigious colleges and launched successful careers in interior design and real estate before founding the cosmetic make up brand 2-4-1 Cosmetics, which became one of Oprah’s Favorite Things.

A set of six lip glosses that 2-4-1 was asked to develop exclusively for Winfrey’s 2020 list, published in November’s O, The Oprah Magazine, sold out almost immediately.
