President Donald Trump has been taken to Walter Reed National Military Center, where he will remain for the next few days as he receives treatment for the coronavirus.
Trump left the white house at approximately 6:16 p.m. Friday and boarded a helicopter bound for the hospital. This was 16 hrs after he announced that he tested positive for the virus.
After he arrived at the hospital, he tweeted a video that said:
“I want to thank everybody for the tremendous support. I’m going to Walter Reed Hospital. I think I’m doing very well. We’re going to make sure that things work out. The first lady is doing very well. So thank you very much, I appreciate it. I will never forget it. Thank you.”
White house advisors say that this is a very serious situation and they are doing everything they can to make sure the president is getting the treatment he needs.
