TikTok trending–but not because of the usual reasons

The Chinese viral short-video sharing app, TikTok has become a nationally political point of contention. President Trump said on Friday that he wanted to ban the app in the United Sates. The national security review is going to make a recommendation to Trump about its safety with regards to Trump’s claims that the app is a national security threat. While other cybersecurity  experts say there isn’t evidence that users data has been compromised by Chinese Intelligence and the risks are theoretical.
