Thought Of The Day With The Wake Up Club – The PAB

One of the biggest stories in the Rochester area is the Police Accountability Board mess. Yes, mess or better yet messy because that is best description of what we are seeing.

At this point it’s not about what is right or what is wrong it’s more about what are we going to do to make this situation better so we can move forward. The dysfunction is parallel to some of what we deal with when it comes to the Rochester Police Department.

Here are some questions that we the community would like answers to when it comes to the PAB.

– If any the allegations are true then how can we expect any sort of help or justice with the PAB?

– How can we be confident the PAB is going to function as it states in it mission statement?

– And lastly, what or who is causing the dysfunction within the PAB and what will resolve the issues going forward?

The PAB has to be transparent and accountable as an organization within itself in order to gain the trust of the community. If they can not do this then we have to go in another direction. We (the voters) are still scratching our heads wondering why it has taken so long for the PAB to get up and running – it’s still not “running”.
