There Is A Bigger Picture Than Your Selfie – Protect Your Loved Ones

Written by on March 17, 2020

How selfish are we as a community that we don’t understand or care to see how we could possibly be hurting our own people?

We want others to see us to help us but we don’t see us.
What I mean is we have family members and loved ones in our household that has lupus, diabetes, lung disease, and other underlying health issues but we don’t even care. We don’t see them, our arrogance allows us to only see ourselves.
An example is we are going to events, crowds, and clubs or traveling somewhere knowing we are facing a pandemic. We say well “we can’t get it” because we believe what we see on social media or what a friend or cousin said. Telling the narrative that African Americans don’t get COVID-19 and are immune is not safe.
We are not listening to doctors or the real experts. Currently, there are close to 800 cases in New York State in a matter of days and 3 deaths.
People don’t do what’s right they do what they want, no matter who it hurts.
At some point you have to stop caring about only you and care about the people around you. You might not fit the age group that’s vulnerable however, you can pass COVID-19 to those around you. Did you know you be the reason your loved one get’s sick or worse because of your selfishness?
When you look at the photos of the travelers stuck in Europe and Italy it’s not “us”, that’s why it hasn’t hit our communities yet. When it does we are in trouble.
Take a minute to SEE your loved ones! We already deal with the world not seeing us. This is a time where we need our own people to see and help protect US.
Let’s get to the other side of this ALL together and in the best of health!
