The principal from a New Jersey high school that inspired the film and role for Morgan Freeman’s in the classic 1989 film “Lean On Me” has died.
Joe Louis Clark has died in his home in Florida on Tuesday after a long battle with an unnamed illness according to his family, he was 82 years old.
The movie “Lean On Me” was based on Clark’s career as an educator and principal at the notorious Eastside High School in New Jersey.
The real life Joe Clark was born in Rochelle, Georgia on May 8th 1938 and moved with his family to North Newark New Jersey when he was 6 years old.
Joe Clark was known for walking around with a baseball bat.
