The Lucky Flea Market Opening
Written by Site Hub on May 31, 2021
Yesterday, The Lucky Flea Market, an outdoor vintage market that features local shops and local creatives, had its opening event. Each Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.until June 27th, you will be able to attend this pop-up event located in the Anderson Arts and Good Luck Garden Parking lots at the corner of Carlton Street and Anderson Avenue, in the NOTA neighborhood. This event was founded by Sofia Cerankosky and Chris Rapoza, who after spending a lot of time in Los Angeles at vintage markets, wanted to create a similar feel here in Rochester.
In a statement from Chris Rapoza, he stated “That idea was back in January, and we thought on it for a little bit. Then came February, we released info to local vendors that I know, people who sell vintage, … who sell food, and the reaction was like people were excited to just get outside and do something and be a part of the community. As COVID restrictions were trying to ease up a bit, we felt comfortable, especially with it being outside; open-air, booths, distanced a tad and the reaction was great.” Those attending can expect to see over 30 vintage clothing and home decor vendors, local food and beverage vendors, and over 30 local artists, crafters, and makers, with variations to come every single week. Most vendors will also take a mix of Venmo, CashApp, Paypal, Apple Pay, Zelle, and “cash is always king” at the family-friendly event.
